Unfortunately, we
may never know the fate of hundreds of Raiders who were transferred to
Marine Corps organizations other than the six Marine Divisions.
Data
from microfiche roster of personnel (all services) who died in WWII Compiled
by Army Personnel Command, Department. of the Army, May 83. Casualty
dates are not given. Locations are occasionally indicated.
The 6th
Marine Division History includes a WIA roster; however, it does not specify
in which operation the wound was received Guam or Okinawa. There are153
WlAs in this category and are identified as WIA* on the U.S. Marine Raider
roster.
