Funeral services for Grady Smith DeFoore, 65, of Houston, Texas, who died Thursday [August 12, 1982] in a Houston hospital, will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Sidon Baptist Church.
A former resident of Greenwood, Mr. DeFoore had been employed by Reynolds Aluminum Corp. of Houston, Texas, for the past 20 years. He attended Greenwood High School and was a graduate of French Camp Academy.
Mr. DeFoore was a veteran of World War II having served with the 1st Marine Division, 2nd Raider Battalion in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beth Smith DeFoore; one son, Grady S. DeFoore Jr. of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, John N. DeFoore of Boerne, Texas, J. G. DeFoore of Jackson and Charles W. DeFoore of Waco, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Clark Simpson of Greenwood; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be John Cox III, Dennis Roland, John DeFoore, Judson DeFoore, Richard G. DeFoore, W. C. Simpson Jr. and Bob Simpson.
The Rev. Dr. Walter Yeldell will officiate at services. Burial will be in Sidon Cemetery.
Wilson and Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
