Obituaries > FLACK, CHARLES L.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Acadia Memorial Park for Charles Laird Flack, 69, who died Wednesday [August 18, 1982] in his home after a short illness.

Born in Hollywood, he was a grandson of the pioneer Modesto family of Charles and Nellie Minniear and had lived in the area since age 3.

A retired operating engineer and a World War II veteran, he served six years with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Sino-Japanese War and with Carlson”s Raiders in the South Pacific.

He leaves his wife, Lois of Modesto; a stepdaughter, Lin Morrison of Modesto; and a sister, Sylvia Thompson of Turlock.

The family prefers remembrances be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 285, Modesto, 95353.
