Obituaries > JOHNSON, CAM W.

Mrs. Martin Nelson, 1625 Pearl, has returned from Iraan, Texas, where she attended recent memorial services for a brother, Cpl. C. W. Johnson, a member of the 6th Marines [Division] who was killed on Okinawa June 21 [1945]. Corporal Johnson was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Johnson, Iraan.

Dr. Don Morris, president of Abilene Christian College, officiated. Corporal Johnson was a member of the First Marine Raiders until that organization was disbanded. He then became a charter member of the Fourth Marines, Reinforced. He participated in the invasion of 14 Pacific islands; he received two individual citations for bravery and one unit citation and had been recommended for the Silver Star for gallantry in action on Okinawa.

Corporal Johnson attended Abilene Christian College in 1940, ’41 and ’42.
