BARBERTON—Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Paul L. Mills Funeral Home for Cpl. George Johnston Karr, 21, who was killed in action on Okinawa April [2], 1945.

Before enlisting, Cpl. Karr lived at 536 Yale St., Barberton. The family home now is at 74 Borton Ave., Akron.

He was a graduate of Barberton High School. While in school he was active in athletics and was president of the Hi-Y. He was a freshman at Ohio State University when he enlisted in the Marines.

He leaves his mother, Mrs. Hazel Karr; a sister, Patricia Ann, and [two] brothers, Richard L. and Donald E. Karr.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
