William Elisha Pepper, 73, of Benton, a retired corrosion technician, died of respiratory failure Sunday, July 17  at King’s Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19 at Nowell-Flippin Funeral Home in Canton with burial in Concord Cemetery in Pickens.
Mr. Pepper, a Holmes County native, moved to Benton 31 years ago. He worked for Southern Natural Gas Co. 36 years. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Raider Battalion. He was a member of Benton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Audrey; sons, Marvin Pepper of Madison and Fred Pepper of Jackson; daughter, Bettye of Dallas; brother, Jed Pepper of Pickens; and two grandchildren.
