Fritz “Fred” Poulsen passed away on January 20th, 2014 at the age of 88. Born and raised in San Francisco, Fritz was in the Marines and served in the South Pacific during WWII. Fritz married Peggy in 1949, and together they raised four children. Fritz was a cherished father to Sally (Mike) Cota, Chris (Karey) Poulsen, Robin (Pattie) Poulsen, and Melissa (Pete) Mestice. Retired in 1985 from 25 years as a truck driver for Shell, Fritz spent his time doting on and being adored by his 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and playing golf as often as he could; he was an enthusiastic player and fan. He was a member of both the Druids and SIRS, and enjoyed visiting and playing cards with his friends. Fritz is reunited with his beloved wife of 49 years who preceded him in death. He will be missed. If desired, donations can be made to Heartland Hospice of Santa Rosa. A celebration of life will be held at the Santa Rosa Village Mobile Home Park Clubhouse at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25th, 2014. The clubhouse is located at 4001 Sonoma Hwy, Santa Rosa, CA 95409.
