This bronze statue solidifies the special place Marine Raiders have in history. We hope it will carry this proud heritage to thousands who visit the National Museum of the Marine Corps. WWII Marine Raiders, spouses, widows, and major donors were honored with a VIP reception in conjunction with the official unveiling.
The Raiders are now considering commissioning a large walk-around bronze statue to be located at a prominent outside location. As presently conceived, this statue would include a listing of the names of all the Marine Raiders from WWII. Donations are currently being accepted for this statue initiative.
