Martial Arts Center of Excellence

Named Raider Hall

Albert Einstein cautioned that World War III would be fought with nuclear weapons, but World War IV would be fought with sticks and stone. He might well have added martial arts as it is conducted with little or no technology. While we do not advocate hand to hand combat as the primary weapon of modern warfare, proficiency in its conduct is the ultimate assurance of living to fight another day.

World War II Marine Raiders are honored by the Martial Arts Center of Excelence at the Quantico Virginia Marine Base being named Raider Hall. On its opening the center was dedicated by Charles Meacham, President of the United States Marine Raider Association. The Martial Arts Center will employ the training methodology exemplified by that of Marine Corps veteran Grand Master Ed McGrath.

You are invited to visit this Center to become familiar its comprehensive program, directed and managed by Lieutenant Colonel Joseph C. Shusko USMC and his staff, to teach and promote the martial arts in the United States Marine Corps.

To emphasize the role of the Marine Raiders a life size statue group THE PATROL is proposed outside the entrance to Raider Hall. Learn about sculptor Laurie Barton the famed artisan who will immortalize the Raiders in bronze.

You are urged to understand and support this effort. For details CLICK the underlined above and the Gung Ho Fund.
