Raymond Reyes, age 63, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 1990, following a lengthy illness. The Rosary and Funeral Mass were held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Thursday, August 2, 1990. Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery in South San Gabriel.
Mr. Reyes was born in Simons, California on July 8, 1924, and has lived in this area since birth. He was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church parish, as well as the Marine Raider Association, and was a former member of the American Legion, Post 272 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Reyes is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in action at Guadalcanal, Bougainville, the Consolidation of the North Solomon Islands, Iwo Jima and the Occupation of Japan during World War II, and also during the Korean conflict.
Surviving Mr. Reyes are his loving wife Carmen of the home address; sons Joseph Reyes of Hacienda Heights and Randy Reyes of Monterey Park; brother Andrew Reyes of Wenatchee, Washington, and one grandchild Rozlyn Reyes.
