Arthur Ray ”Rocky” Roggenkamp, 89 of Cedar Park passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014. He was born April 26, 1925 in DeWitt County, TX to Walter and Maude Roggenkamp. He married Gladys Irene Shows on August 16, 1963 in Wharton, TX. They moved to Cedar Park, TX where they lived for over 35 years and belonged to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Rocky was predeceased by parents; wife, Gladys Irene Shows; oldest son, Ronald “Butch” Roggenkamp and brother, Marvin Roggenkamp

Rocky is survived by children, Donna McNaught-Torres and husband Gill of Sun City, California; Roger “Pete” Roggenkamp and wife Sally of Rose City; Lana McDearmon and husband Joe Eddie of Briggs; David “Shorty” Roggenkamp and wife Belinda of Lumberton; and Terry “Rusty” Roggenkamp and Michele of Cedar Park. He was blessed to have 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Beck Funeral Home, 1700 East Whitestone Blvd., Cedar Park, Texas. A service celebrating Rocky’s life, his faith and his honor to country will be held on at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2014 at Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Liberty Hill, Texas.

Friends and family are invited to a reception immediately following graveside services at Life Springs Christian Church, 15611 W State Highway 29, Liberty Hill, Texas 78642.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Rocky may be sent to Wounded Warriors or American Cancer Society.
