Washington, D.C., Oct. 26—The Navy Department tonight made public its 15th casualty list of the war, listing 408 dead, wounded, and missing, whose next of kin were notified in the period between Oct. 1 and Oct. 15.
A preponderant share of the casualties resulted directly from action with the enemy, but in the list are men lost in accidents at sea and in the air on war duty.
The list brought the total of Navy casualties reported since Pearl Harbor to 15,814.
The casualties in Illinois, Wisconsin, northern Indiana, and southern Michigan were given as follows, with their next of kin:
Michigan Enlisted Men Dead [September 12, 1942]: John Targosz Jr., corporal, Marine Corps; father, John Targosz Sr., 11746 Moran Street, Hamtramck.
