Billy Joe Wammack, 79, of Hot Springs, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 in a Little Rock hospital. Born July 1, 1925 in Commerce, Oklahoma to Charles W. and Ellen Hurley Wammack, he was a Protestant and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II in the Pacific Theater.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Johnston-Rutherford and J. Major Rutherford of Escondido, California and Iva Pearl and H. Paul Faust of Independence, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2004, at Gross Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Forrest officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, with Military Honors by the Honor Guard, Thaddeus H. Caraway Post 2278, VFW.
