Staff Sgt. James Robert Williams, Bend, died as a result of combat wounds in Korea Sept. 30, 1951. Born Feb. 3, 1927, at Dexter, he was educated at Trent and Pleasant Hill. Williams was a Trent Christian Church member. He was a World War II veteran and was serving with the First Marine Division at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi, to whom he was married June 1, 1946 at Springfield; a son, Kenneth; a sister, Mrs. Marie Bohna, Eugene; a brother, Jerold, Dexter; his grandmother, Mrs. Ida Williams, Eugene; grandfather, William Arnold, Dexter.
Services will be Monday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m. at the Trent Christian Church, with Veatch Hollingsworth England in charge. H. V. Johnson will officiate, with interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
