The victim of a traffic mishap near Gallup Wednesday [February 2, 1972] was identified by State Police today as Daniel J. Yazzie, 48, Shiprock.
Yazzie apparently fell asleep under a tractor-trailer rig while it was parked in Gallup. His mangled body was found near Window Rock, Ariz. Police, who were not able to identify him until today, said he was dragged more than 30 miles.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Shiprock with Father Bruce Hasfeld, OFM, officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe under direction of Cope Memorial Chapel.
