Obituaries > YAZZIE, FELIX

Funeral service for Felix Bradley Yazzie, 67, Shiprock, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mesa View Assembly of God Church, Shiprock, with the Rev. Charlie Lee officiating. He died Wednesday, Sept. 9 [1987], at Public Health Service Hospital in Gallup. He was born Nov. 27, 1919. Burial will be in the Veterans Administration section of the Shiprock Cemetery with the Code Talkers conducting graveside service. He served in the Marines as a Code Talker. He also worked in San Francisco, Calif., in the postal service for many years until his retirement. Survivors include one brother, Harry H. Yazzie, Shiprock. Pallbearers will be Richard Blackhat, Ted Yazzie, Homer Joe, Steven Cody, Richard Miller and Matthew Blackhat. Honorary pallbearers will be James Tyler, Harry H. Yazzie, Jimmy Yazzie, Leonard Benally, Waldo Emerson, and Duane “Chili” Yazzie. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, Kirtland.
